FUDGY OATMEAL WHEAT GERM
BROWNIES
 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 c. butter
1 3/4 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. wheat germ
2/3 c. dry instant milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
4 eggs
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. white sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan. Melt chocolate chips and butter. Reserve. Combine oats, wheat germ, dry milk, baking powder, salt, and walnuts in bowl; mix well. Reserve. Beat eggs until light. Gradually beat in brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla until thick. Stir in chocolate mixture. Fold in reserved oat mixture. Spread batter in pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes (toothpick comes out moist and top is crisp). Cover with foil and refrigerate for several hours for easier cutting.
