GRAM'S APRICOT BARS 
2/3 c. dried apricots
1/2 c. soft butter
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Confectioners' sugar

Cover apricots with water, boil 10 minutes. Drain; cool; chop. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Mix butter, granulated sugar and 1 cup flour until crumbly. Pack into pan. Bake 25 minutes. Sift 1/3 cup flour, baking powder, salt. Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs; mix in flour mixture. Then vanilla, nuts and apricots. Spread over baked layer. Bake 30 minutes or until done. Cool. Cut into 32 bars. Roll in confectioners' sugar.
