APRICOT BARS 
1 1/3 c. dried apricots
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour, sifted
2/3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. brown sugar, packed
4 eggs, well-beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, chopped
Powdered sugar

Cover apricots with water; boil 10 minutes. Drain, cool and chop. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix butter, sugar and flour until crumbly. Pack into pan and bake for 25 minutes. Sift together 2/3 cup flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs. Add sifted flour mixture and mix well. Add vanilla, nuts and apricots. Spread over baked layer. Bake for 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Cut into bars and roll in powdered sugar.
