LUSCIOUS APRICOT BARS 
1 1/3 c. dried apricots
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. sifted flour
2/3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs, beaten well
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
Confectioners' sugar

Rinse apricots; cover with water; boil 10 minutes. Drain - cool - chop. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 9 inch pan. Mix until crumbly, butter, sugar, 2 cups flour. Pack into pan. Bake about 25 minutes or until lightly brown. Sift together 2/3 cups flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs. Add flour mix. Mix well. Mix in vanilla, nuts, apricots. Spread over baked layer. Bake 30 minutes. Cool in pan - cut into bars. Roll in confectioners' sugar.
