EASY AND LUSCIOUS APRICOT BARS 
1 c. real butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 c. pecans, coarsely chopped
1 lg. (18 oz.) jar apricot preserves
Other fruit preserve may be substituted

Mix first 4 ingredients until dough sticks together. Press 3/4 of dough into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish to cover bottom evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and spread apricot preserves over crust evenly. Crumble rest of mixture over all. Bake 25 minutes more at 350 degrees. Cool 30 minutes before cutting into bars. Note: Spread preserves to 1/2 inch of edge.
