OLD-FASHIONED CORN BREAD | |
1 c. corn meal 1 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 egg 3 tbsp. melted shortening or bacon drippings Do not sift meal. Mix all ingredients together and bake in greased pan or skillet at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes. This is a 200 year old recipe. |
