SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD 
2X as much sugar as butter and 2X as much flour as sugar.

Example:
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour

Cut ingredients together with pastry cutter or 2 knives. When dough has been thoroughly mixed and is in pea size crumbs, press into baking pan.
