BEA'S CRANBERRY PUDDING 
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. cranberries, cut in half
1/2 c. milk

BUTTER SAUCE:

1/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla

CAKE: Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and blend. Sift dry ingredients. Blend with creamed mixture. Add cranberries and milk; mix well. Pour into lightly greased and floured 9"x9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

BUTTER SAUCE: Cook butter, sugar and milk in saucepan over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add tablespoon of vanilla. Serve hot on pieces of cranberry cake.
