LIME PICKLES | |
1 lb. sliced cucumbers 2 gallons water 2 c. lime for pickling Cover cucumbers with lime and water. Let soak 24 hours. Rinse well. Cover with cold water, soak 3 hours. Cover with the following: 4 1/2 lbs. sugar 1 tsp. whole cloves 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. pickling spices 2 tbsp. salt Let stand overnight. Next morning, bring to a boil. Seal in jars while hot. |
