2 pkg. yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1/2 c. warm milk 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1/2 c. soft shortening 4 1/2-5 c. flour Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in milk, sugar, salt and eggs. Mix in shortening and flour until dough is easy to handle. Knead until smooth. Place in greased pan, let rise 2 hours. Punch down. Let rise again about 30-40 minutes. Roll out and cut with donut cutter. Let rise 1 1/2 hours. Fry in hot grease (375 degrees) until golden brown. Makes about 2 dozen. |
