CHILI BEANS | |
2 lbs. lean ground beef 1 lb. pork sausage 2 cans pinto beans (29 oz.) 1 lg. onion 1 red bell pepper 2 tbsp. Mrs. Dash spices 1 1/2 tsp. garlic (powder or flesh ground) Salt and pepper to taste 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes (or stewed) 3 tbsp. California brand ground chili 3 tbsp. New Mexico brand ground chili 1 c. water with 4 beef bouillon cubes Dice onion and bell pepper and saute' until tender. Add ground beef and pork sausage and cook until done. Drain fat and add tomatoes, water, chilies, salt and pepper, Mrs. Dash, garlic. Cook about 5 minutes and add more water if too thick. (Stir often). Add beans and simmer at least another 15 minutes. Add more salt and pepper if needed. Feeds about 12 hungry people. |
