COUNTRY FRENCH DESSERT 
1/2 lb. sweet cherries
2 med. sized nectarines, cut in sm. wedges
1/3 c. sugar
2 c. half & half
2/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
4 lg. eggs
2 tbsp. sliced natural almonds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 10 inch skillet (cover handle with several layers of aluminum foil) or a shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

Prepare fruit. In a small bowl, toss nectarine wedges with 1 tablespoon sugar. In large bowl, with wire whisk or fork, beat 1/3 cup sugar with half & half and remaining ingredients except almonds, until smooth. Pour batter in baking dish or skillet, arrange nectarine wedges around edges, then cherries in center. Sprinkle with almonds.

Bake 40-45 minutes until golden or until knife can be inserted in center and comes out clean. Serve warm. Makes 8 servings.
