ENGLISH TOFFEE BARS 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white, slightly beaten
1 c. chopped pecans
2 oz. (2 sq.) semi-sweet chocolate, melted

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolk and beat. Add flour and cinnamon, beating until blended. Pour into greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan and press evenly. Brush top with egg white. Sprinkle with pecans and press lightly into dough. Bake at 275 degree oven for 1 hour. While still hot cut into 1 1/2 inch squares. Drizzle with melted chocolate. Cool on wire rack. Makes 5-6 dozen.
