OATMEAL MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. quick oatmeal

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and beat. Add molasses. Then add sifted dry ingredients. Last, stir in oatmeal. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees 8 to 10 minutes. These cookies have a chewy quality.
