MIRLITONS AND SHRIMP 
4-6 mirlitons, boiled, peeled & cut up
2 lbs. cleaned shrimp, whole or cut up
1 c. bread crumbs
1 lg. onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
3 tbsp. cooking oil
1 egg, well beaten (opt.)
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
Salt & Pepper to taste
Bread crumbs for top

Cook mirlitons until nearly tender. Peel, take out seeds and cut into pieces. Saute onions and garlic in oil in a large pot for about 5 minutes. Add mirlitons and salt and cook until mashed (very tender). Stir very often as they may stick. Add shrimp. Cook until shrimp are pink. Add parsley and bread crumbs. Stir until well mixed. Place in a buttered baking dish and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.
