CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES 
2/3 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. buttermilk or sour milk

To sour milk, use 1 teaspoon vinegar plus 1/3 cup milk.

Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Blend in vanilla and egg. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda. Add flour and buttermilk or sour milk to mixture.

Drop by teaspoon on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 7-9 minutes. Remove and cool on wire rack. Makes approximately 4 dozen.
