2 sq. chocolate (Baker's type squares)
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 c. milk

Melt chocolate and shortening together. Add sugar, egg and milk (in that order). Sift flour and baking soda together and add to the mixture. Stir well. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 12-15 minutes.

Also good with chocolate frosting.

Time and yield depends on size. Approximately 2 1/2 dozen.
