MOM'S CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. sour milk
5 heaping tsp. cocoa, sifted with enough flour to form drop batter (3 to 4
c.)

Mix in order given. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) until firm to touch. May be frosted with chocolate or orange frosting.
