MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. hot coffee (instant okay)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
5 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and mix well. Stir in molasses and coffee; blend in remaining ingredients and chill for several hours. Pat out on floured board and cut out with top of small glass.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
