GERMAN SAUERKRAUT 
2 (1 lb.) pkgs. mild sausage
2 (2 lb.) pkgs. sauerkraut
2 tsp. caraway seed
2-3 green apples, peeled and sliced
1 lg. onion, sliced

Brown sausage, drain and add onions and simmer about 10 minutes. Add sauerkraut and caraway seed. Simmer for 1 hour, add sliced apples and simmer again for 30 minutes. Add a little water occasionally to keep it from cooking dry.

Serves 6-8.
