MARINARA SAUCE | |
1 lg. can crushed tomatoes 3 cloves garlic 4 tbsp. oil 2 tsp. sweet basil 1/4 c. red wine Salt and pepper to taste Chop up garlic and saute in oil until lightly browned (do not burn). Add tomatoes, sweet basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 30 to 40 minutes. Add wine and simmer about another 1/2 hour. Can be used on piza or macaroni. Or as we call it in Upstate New York, tomato pie. |
