ECONOMICAL BEEF - TURKEY CHOP
SUEY
 
1 1/2 lb. ground round & ground turkey, mixed
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onions
1/2 c. chopped green bell peppers (optional)
1 (1 lb. 10 oz.) can Chinese vegetables (or bean sprouts)
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tsp. low salt beef soup base
Soy sauce
1/2 c. molasses
1-2 c. water
1/2 c. cornstarch
1-2 c. cooked rice

In a 3 quart kettle saute meat and drain off excess fat. Add celery, onions and the peppers. Salt and pepper, soup base and approximately 1/2 cup water. Simmer covered 10-15 minutes until vegetables are tender. Add bean sprouts and soy sauce; heat to boiling.

Meanwhile mix cornstarch with enough water to mix. Add molasses to this mixture and mix thoroughly. Add to boiling vegetable and meat mixture. Add more water if necessary and cook for 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring often. Serve over cooked rice. Makes 4-6 servings.
