OZARK HONEY-OATMEAL COOKIES | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1/3 c. honey 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 3/4 c. flour 2 c. quick oats 1 c. flaked coconut Variation: Omit coconut and add 1 cup raisins and 1/2 cup nuts. Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs, honey, soda, and salt. Add sifted flour, oats, and coconut. Drop by spoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet; allow space as these spread. Bake in a moderate oven 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. This recipe was given out at the Sibley House. |
