MERINGUE PIE CRUST 
3 egg whites, beaten stiff

Add:

1 c. sugar gradually
10 white soda crackers, rolled fine
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped pecan nut meats

Butter pie tin. Bake 1/2 hour at 350 degrees. Cut crust while hot. Very good filled with fresh fruit or custard.

At last! This looks like my Mom's recipe. Have been searching for it for a long time... but used pecan search terms. I'll cut back on the sugar a little, and increase the finely cut pecans to about 2/3 cup. Be sure to use fresh baking powder.

This is WONDERFUL cooled and filled to overflowing with FRESH, juicy, cold peaches (or nectarines). Ticket to heaven. One can never have enough of the very best peach pie on earth. (You'll never go back to a mushy-bottom flour crust for peaches.) Heading to the kitchen!
