GRANNY'S DUMPLINGS | |
1 cup boiling broth 1/2 cup Crisco (melted) 1 tsp salt 2 eggs beaten well In large bowl mix boiling broth and Crisco and salt. After broth cools down add flour, and fold in to mixture until thick enough to put on floured dough board and knead. KEEP adding flour and kneading it into the dough. Take 1/2 of dough and roll out as thin as you can, cut into strips, drop into boiling, rolling broth one strip at a time. Then the other 1/2 of dough the same. Be careful not to let it boil over. When all strips are used turn heat down and simmer about 20 minutes. Then cover and turn on low heat. Stir some to keep from sticking. |
