MOTHER'S OLD TIME FUDGE CANDY | |
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate 2/3 c. milk 2 c. sugar Pinch of salt 1 tbsp. corn syrup 2 tsp. butter Melt chocolate, add sugar, milk, salt, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil until the mixture forms a soft ball in cold water. Put water in small bowl. Use fingers to make soft ball. Set mixture aside for about 15 minutes. Let stand then add 2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring. Beat until it loses its shine and gets thick. Grease baking dish well with butter. Pour mixture in and let cool, then cut into squares. Add 1 cup nuts, if desired. May also be used as icing on a cake. |
