FRUITCAKE COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco shortening
1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour (1 c. goes on fruit)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 slices candied pineapple
1 1/2 lbs. candied cherries
1/2 lb. dates
2 c. pecans
Little rum flavoring

Cut up fruit and chop nuts. Pour 1 cup flour over and mix, set aside. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat. Add flour and remaining dry ingredients. Mix in fruit and nut mixture. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 120 cookies if teaspoon dropped. (Will like even if you don't like fruit cake!)
