CHOCOLATE - CHIP PECAN MOUNDS | |
1 c. butter 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 egg yolk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 (6 oz.) miniature semisweet chocolate chips 2 slightly beaten egg whites 2 c. finely chopped pecans In a large bowl beat butter until softened. Add brown sugar and beat until light. Add egg yolk and vanilla and beat well. Add flour and beat until well mixed. Stir in chocolate pieces. Cover and chill about 1 hour (to make handling easier). Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in egg whites, then in nuts. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until done. (Centers will be soft.) Remove and cool. Makes 4-5 dozen. |
