PEPPER STEAK 
1/2 lb. round steak, cut into thin strips and marinated
2 tbsp. oil or butter
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, thinly sliced
2 oz. sliced mushrooms
1 c. tomato pieces
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
3 c. rice

Lightly brown beef in oil or butter. Add onion, green pepper, and mushrooms. Cook over medium heat until onions and green pepper are tender. Add salt and pepper, simmer 15 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook 3 more minutes. Serve over rice.

MARINADE:

1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1/2 c. soy sauce
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. oil
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. pepper

Combine ingredients in bowl and add meat. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours, stir occasionally.
