1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add oil and eggs. Stir together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. Stir in vanilla. Chill 1 hour. Roll small balls of dough in sugar. Press. Bake at 350 degrees 8-9 minutes. Do not over bake! They will be very light with only a hint of brown edges.
