ORANGE LIQUEUR 
4 oranges
2 c. vodka
1 c. sugar
1 vanilla bean
1 c. brandy
1 c. water

Remove zest from oranges and put zest in large jar with vanilla bean. Add vodka and brandy. In saucepan combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil stirring to dissolve sugar. Boil 2 minutes and remove from heat, setting aside 10 minutes. Add to jar. Allow to age for 10 days, though longer is better. You can either strain and put in a fancy bottle or leave zest and bean in whichever you prefer.
