SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 stick butter
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
pecans
1 box powdered sugar

Sift flour and sugar. Boil shortening, butter, water and cocoa. Pour over flour mixture while still hot. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla.

Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes in a greased and floured sheet cake pan. Melt remaining ingredients except powdered sugar. Pour over powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Ice cake while both are still warm.
