SHRIMP GUMBO 
1/2 c. chopped onions
2 tbsp. butter

Saute 5 minutes. Add: 3 tbsp. flour 4 1/2 c. chicken broth or bouillon

Add: 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. minced parsley 1 clove garlic, minced 2 bay leaves

Simmer covered for 1 hour. Add: 1 1/2 lbs. shrimp, raw, shelled 1 can (6 oz.) crabmeat

Simmer 10 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Add 1 tsp. gumbo file. Serve over hot cooked rice.
