PICKLED OKRA 
2 lbs. sm. tender okra
5 pods hot pepper
1 qt. white vinegar
1/2 c. water
6 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. mustard seed or celery seed
2 tbsp. dill seed
10 pods garlic
1/4 tsp. alum for each jar

Heat vinegar, water and spices to boiling. Wash okra and pack in pint jars. Add 1 pepper, 2 garlic and 1/4 teaspoon alum to each jar. Pour vinegar and spices over okra and seal at once.
