BIG SOFT GINGER COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, butter or shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 tbsp. sugar

Combine flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt; set aside. Beat butter, butter or shortening on low for 30 seconds to soften. Add sugar, beat until fluffy. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Stir in dry ingredients. Shape into balls and roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Don't over bake. Makes 2 dozen large cookies.

I wrap these large cookies individually and mail to family for Christmas.
