ONE DISH MACARONI BEEF | |
1/2 lb. ground beef 1 c. uncooked macaroni 1 1/2 c. water 1 (7 oz.) can whole kernel corn, undrained 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. chili powder 1 sm. onion, finely chopped 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/3 c. catsup 1 tbsp. packed brown sugar 1/4 tsp. pepper 1. Crumble ground beef in 2 quart glass casserole dish. Stir in onion. Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap. 2. Microwave on High for 3 minutes. Drain and stir in remaining ingredients and recover. 3. Microwave on Med-Low (30% power) for 30 to 35 minutes, or until macaroni is tender. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes before serving. Approximately 4 to 6 servings. NOTE: Cooking time listed is for 600 to 700 watt ovens. Smaller ovens will require longer cooking time. |

I do not make this in the microwave because the meat just won't brown to my satisfaction. I pretty much prepare it like a spaghetti sauce. But, melt some American cheese slices in it, on it, through it and you'll have a new family favorite yourself. Thank so much for posting this.
