ONE DISH MACARONI BEEF
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 c. uncooked macaroni
1 1/2 c. water
1 (7 oz.) can whole kernel corn, undrained
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/3 c. catsup
1 tbsp. packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper

1. Crumble ground beef in 2 quart glass casserole dish. Stir in onion. Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap.

2. Microwave on High for 3 minutes. Drain and stir in remaining ingredients and recover.

3. Microwave on Med-Low (30% power) for 30 to 35 minutes, or until macaroni is tender. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes before serving. Approximately 4 to 6 servings.

NOTE: Cooking time listed is for 600 to 700 watt ovens. Smaller ovens will require longer cooking time.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

Ohmigosh! This is exactly the recipe I was looking for from a long lost microwave recipe book. It used to be such a family favorite (we called it Squish, Bubble, and Pop).
I do not make this in the microwave because the meat just won't brown to my satisfaction. I pretty much prepare it like a spaghetti sauce. But, melt some American cheese slices in it, on it, through it and you'll have a new family favorite yourself. Thank so much for posting this.
