BAKED CUSTARD 
1 qt. milk
4 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
Few grains of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Nutmeg (if desired)

Scald milk. Beat eggs; add sugar, salt and vanilla. Gradually add milk. Pour into individual custard cups; sprinkle with nutmeg (if desired). Place in pan of hot water. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until inserted knife comes out clean. Cool or may be served warm.
