MAPLE MELTAWAYS 
2 c. flour
3/4 c. white sugar
2 1/4 sticks butter, really softened
1 1/2 tsp. maple extract
1/4 tsp. salt
36 pecan halves

Put butter, sugar, salt and maple flavoring in large bowl. Beat until light and fluffy. Add flour and blend in.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Gently press pecan half into top of each cookie.

Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on sheet.
