1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. chopped nuts

Sprinkle soda over chopped dates. Pour on boiling water. Mix remaining dry ingredients while dates cool. Pour date mix over dry ingredients and stir until mixed. Add mayonnaise and nuts; stir until mixed well. Bake in greased loaf pan at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean when tested.
