ANGEL BISCUITS 
5 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk
1 pkg. yeast dissolved in 1/2 c. very warm water

Sift dry ingredients together; cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and yeast. Mix with spoon until flour is moistened. Cover bowl and put into refrigerator until ready to use as needed. Roll on floured board to 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut and bake at 400 degrees in shallow pan for about 15 minutes.

NOTE: To make wheat biscuits--use 2 cups wheat flour and 3 cups white flour.

TO MAKE BUTTERMILK: Add 1 tablespoon vinegar to each cup milk.
