GOLDEN CANDY CARAMELS | |
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter 2 c. sugar 1 c. light corn syrup 1 can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated) 2 c. broken nut meats 1 tsp. vanilla Melt butter carefully in heavy saucepan. Add remaining ingredients. Cook until temperature is 240 degrees, remove from stove and add the nut meats and vanilla. Use a spatula to stir the mixture as it cooks. (Do not leave it for a minute, scorches easily.) Pour into greased pan and cool. Cut into small pieces and wrap. |
