1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. applesauce
1/2 tsp. cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg
2 c. flour
1 c. chocolate chips or raisins
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. nuts

Mix the same as cake. Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes at 325 degrees.
