1 c. applesauce
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 c. raisins, if desired
1 c. nuts

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well (about 1/2 minute with electric mixer).

Scoop by the tablespoonful onto greased baking sheets or silicone or parchment paper. Bake 8-12 minutes or until done (depends on the size of the cookies you've made). Remove and cool on wire rack.
