OCTOBER COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. Rice Krispies

Cream Crisco and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, soda, and baking powder, add to butter mixture. Mix oatmeal, coconut, and Rice Krispies with other mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press out with hand. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Remove from pan immediately.
