1/4 c. chopped onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
1 c. fine bread crumbs or crackers
3 c. mashed potatoes
Cheddar cheese

Mix onion, 1/2 can soup, egg, hamburger and crumbs. Put in 2 quart casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Pour or spoon off grease. Spread remainder of soup on top of meat. Spread mashed potatoes on top and cover with thin slices of cheddar cheese. Put back in oven for 10 minutes or until cheese melts.
