2 eggs
2 c. flour (self-rising)
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. hot water
Pinch of soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
Flavoring to taste

Mix together and bake in greased and floured cake pans in 350 degree oven for 25 to 35 minutes.

ICING:

6 tbsp. cocoa
4 tbsp. butter
Pinch of soda
Flavoring to taste
Enough hot water to melt butter
1 box confectioners' sugar

Mix together and ice cake when cooled.
