OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. scalded milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. day old bread crumbs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. seedless raisins
1 tsp. vanilla

Scald milk (heat until little bubbles appear and blend). Beat eggs with sugar, add salt and nutmeg and combine with scalded milk. Place bread in a buttered baking dish, add raisins and pour milk mixture over top. Bake in pan of hot water in a 350 degree oven until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm with cream.
