KRAUT CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cocoa
2/3 c. rinsed, drained and chopped sauerkraut
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. water

Cream butter well with sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla and cream until fluffy. Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda and salt together. Add these alternately with water to creamed mixture. Stir in sauerkraut. Turn into 2 greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
