BANANA NUT CAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. buttermilk
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. mashed bananas
2/3 c. chopped nuts

Measure all ingredients into large mixer bowl, blend 1/2 minute on low. Scrape bowl. 3 minutes on high, scrape bowl occasionally. Pour into greased and floured cake pan. Bake 35 to 45 minutes until pick inserted comes out clean. Frost with Butter Cream or Cream Cheese Frosting.
