1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 3 round cake pans. Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs, two at a time. Mix well. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Blend in milk slowly. Add vanilla. Bake until done, approximately 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
